Does your favorite kitty want a trick — or a treat?

Cats may not like dressing up in a costume . . . but most like a Halloween goodie or two.

Chocolate is a no-no as it is toxic to kitties, but here is a yummy recipe you can easily mix together with leftover pie filling from your pumpkin baking.

  • 2 1/4 cups of wheat flour
  • 1/2 canned pumpkin
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • Optional: 2 tbs peanut butter or 1/4 cup of blueberries

Baking Directions:

  1. Preheat the over to 350C
  2. Mix all the ingredients together.  The mixture should be the consistency of a dry dough, rather than a batter.  Add a little water as it is needed to keep the mixture workable.
  3. Roll the dry dough into about 1/2 inch sheet.
  4. Use your cookie cutter of choice, or simply use a sharp edge make cookie pattern of your own.
  5. Bake until the cookies are hard, about 30-40 minutes.

These pumpkin treats keep best in an airtight container, or you can preserve them in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Happy Halloween Baking!
