LONGHAIRS AND SHORTHAIRS ARE JUDGED AS TWO SEPARATE BREEDS.

The Foldex Breed is a man-made breed established by mating a Scottish Fold with an Exotic Shorthair. The Foldex blends the physical features of the two parent breeds in moderation, creating a cat which has a sweet open expression with a gentle fold to its ears.

I - BODY/CONFORMATION (35)

(15 Points) BODY – Medium in size, cobby, massive, well-developed musculature, medium to heavy boning. Wide chest, rather low on its legs, with well-proportioned overall appearance.

(10 Points) LEGS & PAWS  - Legs strong, short, well developed muscles and forelegs straight.  Paws rounded and firm. Toes close together, not splayed, five in front and four in back.

(10 Points) TAIL – Medium in proportion of the length of the body, thick and FLEXIBLE.

II - HEAD TYPE (40 Points)

(10 Points) SHAPE – Broad skull, round and massive head and rounded forehead. Cheeks are prominent on the female and full on the male. Short muzzle, powerful jaws, teeth reflecting proper bite.  The neck is short and powerful with good muscle tone.

(10 Points) EARS – Small with rounded tip. Ears have a single fold forward and in a downward direction. Ears are set far apart and low on the head.

(10 Points) EYES – Large, round, set far apart, wide open producing a sweet expression. Eye colour is to correspond with coat colour.

(10 Points) NOSE – Medium to short nose with a slight concave curve and moderate break.

III - COAT TEXTURE/LENGTH (10 Points)

SHORTHAIR – Short, plush, even, soft and silky in texture, sufficiently dense to stand out from the body.

LONGHAIR – Medium to long hair, soft glossy, full of life, standing out from the body due to its density.

IV – COLOUR (5 Points)

All colours and patterns and combinations are accepted.

V – CONDITION & BALANCE (10 Points)

The ideal Foldex leaves the impression of an alert and healthy cat. A balanced cat will show a harmony of design throughout. Nothing is extreme in this breed, all features are moderate.
