The Males of Flying Fur

The studs have their own room, with walk-in cages and plenty of sunlight and fresh air. They have such good natures that I can even let some of the boys out to play together! They are also somewhat overweight and I'm going to have to put them on a mild diet :-).

"Rev" is the foundation male of our breeding program. He came to live with us in 2000 when Paul Solem was dismantling his Catzilla cattery. I've always loved Rev. He's not my cat - he will always remain Paul's, which is why he still carries the Catzilla cattery name. Rev is very gentle-hearted. He can be with other whole boys and not fight. He loves baths, and purrs when I give him manicures. I like to take naps with him. He is also an astoundingly beautiful cat, and produces, obviously, Grand Champions with regularity.

"Phi" is sweet and terrifically funny. He loves to snuggle and will not ever get off your lap unless you make him. He purrs like thunder, and he does it all the time. Phi is a champion with an absolutely magnificent coat. He will grand someday, but right now his job is to get the girls pregnant. He is a "fur boa" cat. If you sit down in a chair or in bed, he will curl around your neck and purr. No more necktie!

"Bugsy" has a beautiful head and the biggest eyes on any Persian I've ever seen. That's how he earned his name - for those big, beautiful, "buggy" eyes. We got Bugsy on the way home from a cat show in Omaha. He loves to be groomed. He falls asleep or just purrs when I give him baths! He has such a good personality that he runs loose with his pal, Rev and Rev's auxiliary cat, Magic. Bugsy is a total sweetheart.

"Oddly" is an odd-eyed van! One eye blue, one eye copper, and an all white coat except for a black tail and thighs! Oddly is Maggie's brother. He looks and acts a lot like his father, Phi Delt (he is already bigger than Phi Delt!). He's a real sweetheart, a cuddler, a lover, no fights or hissing for him. When he was a kitten at his first show, the judge in the first ring just kind of passed by him, then went back to write something, then RAN back to look at his face! Then she took out a book to see if odd-eyed bi-colors were a recognized color! Finally, she gave him Best Kitten! Everyone in the audience was laughing, including the judge, she had never seen anything like him. He'll be out to the shows in the spring.

"Winston" is the newest kitten from my cattery. As his name implies, II thought he looked like Winston Churchill - but without the cigar, of course. Dan, who usually lets me do all the cat stuff, has fallen in love with "Winnie". He is his security blanket, his baby, his teddy bear, his sleeping pill. After Dan falls asleep, Winston slinks over and sleeps by my knees. He knows that, unlike Dad, if I roll over on him I won't smash him. His personality is top drawer, a real sweet, dreamy little guy, and plays NICELY with the others.
