About Us
I live with my husband,
Jim, in Heber Springs, Arkansas on the Little Red River. We are both recently
retired which gives us lots of time to devote to our kitty-kids.
Cara and her two
sons, Cain and Mitchell, live an hour away in Russellville, Arkansas where
Cara is attending College.
Cara
and I have found that raising our Exotics in two separate households works
very well for us. Our kittens have the advantage of being raised with
Cara's two young boys and their 24 pound neutered cat, Tippy... and also
spending time with my three Chihuahuas, Batman, Kati and Jill, and their
"big sister"
Sandy Ann, our 13 year old collie.
Kittens are born
in the house. When they are ready to be weaned they join the breeding
males in the cattery. The kittens quickly adjust to life in the cattery
and we know their fathers enjoy their company as well.
Once weaned, the kittens
return to the house and have free run of our home with their mothers until
they are ready to go to their new owners.
Whether a pet or
a show cat, we feel this gives the kittens a wonderful start to life.
By the time the kittens leave Linara they are accustomed to many different
situations. These experiences help them adapt more easily to being a part
of a loving family in their new home.
Our
Goal
We are a small cattery
and only produce a couple of litters a year. We wish to remain small as
we feel it helps our cats be healthier and allows us to give them more
individual attention.
We want the name
Linara to stand for integrity and quality. We want to produce type, personality
and health in our kittens... and along the way we want to have fun and
to feel pride in what we are doing.

Our
Breeding Program
At this time Linara
has Exotics exclusively.
The lines behind
our foundation cats include Vinec, Kikicat, Grandaries, Joyville, Lynges,
Zoticats, Bryn Mawr, Joyville, Becton and LionHouse, just to name a few.
We are working with
Bi-Colors, Calicos, Vans, Smokes, Tabbies and an occasional solid.
We are a PKD scanning
cattery. Parents of our breeding cats have all been scanned negative for
PKD.
