Norwegian Forest Cat Breed Winners in CFA

Breed Winner in 1998-99, GC, BW, NW Norsestar's Loki

In the 2001-2002 show season, CFA began awarding a new title – Breed Winner, which is abbreviated as BW. This title is quite exclusive, being given to ONLY ONE cat in each breed or division in a given year – the highest scoring cat for that breed or division in the Championship class.

Although the award began in that season, CFA is retroactively adding the title to Breed Winners of previous years. In this article, Best of Breed was researched back to the 1966-67 show season where the best of breed cats were first listed in the CFA yearbooks.

Although CFA may not have yet updated their records to add the BW title to the cats listed below, the cats have earned the right to use the BW title.

The Norwegian Forest Cats were accepted by CFA in the 1993 show season, and their first Breed Winner was GC, BW, RW Walkuren's Oscar-Olar, a Brown McTabby & White Male, who earned the award that year. The first female Breed Winner occured 2 years later, in 1995-96, earned by a Brown McTabby & White named GC, BW B'ssa Ti Ti Tu.
