Ocicat Breed Winners in CFA

First NW Ocicat, GG, BW, NW Cinnful Chivas of Starspots

In the 2001-2002 show season, CFA began giving out a new title – Breed Winner, which is abbreviated as BW. This title is quite exclusive, being given to ONLY ONE cat in each breed or division in a given year – the highest scoring cat for that breed or division in the Championship class.

Although the award began in that season, CFA is retroactively adding the title to Breed Winners of previous years. In this article, Best of Breed was researched back to the 1966-67 show season where the best of breed cats were first listed in the CFA yearbooks.

The Ocicat was first accepted for competition with CFA in 1987, and the breed winners from that point forward are listed below. Although CFA may not have yet updated their records to add the BW title to the cats listed below, the cats have earned the right to use the BW title.

For the Ocicat, the first Breed Winner was GC, BW Osigatti Sir Love A Dot of Exoticat , a chocolate spotted male, who earned the award in 1987-88. The first female Breed Winner occured 2 years later, in 1989-90, earned by GC, BW, RW Kayzie's Dreammaker of Echoesofmaja.
