Today is the 8th birthday of our sister website, PandEcats.com, the online magazine devoted to Persian & Exotic Shorthair cats.
PandEcats.com debuted on July 1st, 2000. Because breeders other than of Persians and Exotics wanted to join PandEcats, on January 1st, 2001, we decided to launch a (slightly younger) sister website, ShowCatsOnline.com for all breeds of cats... and so it was that ShowCatsOnline came into reality.
Because ShowCatsOnine's birthday falls during the Christmas/New Year holidays, it has always been a challenge to honor its anniversay appropriately... so... henceforth, we will will celebrate the birthdays of ShowCatsOnline and PandEcats together on July 1st.
And part of the festivities includes giving every Current Member of ShowCatsOnline a free submission to The Gallery -

What's New?
Of course, what would a birthday be without a bit of a makeover? We are always trying to make ShowCatsOnline.com better for our readers. A year ago, we debuted a new look. This year, our major upgrades include an improved navigation system. On many of our main, non-article pages you will now find a left hand side menu as well as the horizontal menu at the top of the page.
Another major change is in our Subject Index menu on the left side of the Homepage. The Subject Index provides the reader with categories that group articles together according to an area of interest.
To make it easier for you to find the article you are looking for, the Subject Index has been expanded with several new categories.
Birthing
The old Birthing category has been divided into 3 new ones:
- Pregnancy & Nursing: This is the place to learn everything you need to know to care for your queen through her pregnancy and while she is nursing her kittens.
- Birth & Delivery: Here you will find all the articles about the birthing and delivery of kittens. This is where to look for information that will help you help your cat delivery her kittens safely.
- Birth to Weaning: This category includes articles about the care of kittens from newborn until they are weaned.
CFA
Because the "old" CFA category was becoming so large, it has now been divided into 3 sections:
- CFA (General): Here you will find general articles about CFA , from understanding CFA titles to comparing breed registration numbers.
- CFA Show Season Results: This section includes articles listing all the national, regional and breed winners in CFA, divided by breed and Persian color division. Also included are the results from the CFA International Shows.
- CFA Annual Show Counts: A must when planning a campaign, check out this category to see the show entries of the past season and how to use the numbers to calculate the best show for your cat.
Grooming
The grooming category has been divided to also make it easier to find right information:
- Grooming Products: Articles about actual products used for grooming
- Grooming Techniques: This section includes articles describing the techniques used in grooming.
The Future
ShowCatsOnline.com continues to be one of the premier sources of information about the breeding and showing of pedigreed cats. Our articles have been reprinted in Breed Magazines, Newspapers, Veterinary Publications, Humane Society Newsletters, Rescue print outs and personal websites - and translated into 21 different languages.
