If you are going to campaign a premier, it is essential that you know what the counts for each show were the previous season. This is a trick the "old-hands" at campaigning know all about.

The counts help predict what the counts will be for this season... which in turn will help you choose the best show for your cat each week.
.

To see how to use the past season's show counts to help you campaign in the current season, read the articles Campaigning in Premiership

Analyzing last years counts can be a time-consuming and exhausting chore. So PandEcats has done it for you!

The counts for Premiership have been analyzed and presented in three ways:

  1. First, the counts are presented week-by-week. This table will help you compare the counts for all the shows for each week.
Secondly, the counts for the complete year are ranked from highest to lowest. This will help you plan a campaign months in advance, with your eye towards those highest count shows that will really move your cat forward in the standings.
  2. Thirdly, we have compiled a table with the shows and their counts for each state for the entire year. Use this table to see which shows have good enough counts for your campaign - and that are handy for you to get too! Check out which shows are most handy for your competition too - it will help you predict which cats might turn up at which shows. It pays to be able to predict your competition.

Goal Number

When you decide to campaign a cat, your first step is to determine your goal number for each show. Your goal number is the minimum number of points you need to earn/ring to reach your campaign goal.

So, for instance, if your goal is a national win, your minimum goal number is the number of points per ring earned by 25th of the previous season. For the 2016-2017 season, the cat in 25th spot nationally earned 2567.10 points in 100 rings, or an average of 25.67 points/ring. Your goal number for a national win in premiership would be 26 points.

You use this goal number to evaluate the shows worth attending. For instance, if a show has a total count of 30 cats, and you think you can be Best or 2nd in every ring, it would earn you a usable (top 100 rings) ring count. However, if a show has a count of 26 cats, even if you are Best across the board and earned a 25 RPA, it is unlikely that the rings would end up in your top 100 rings if you were to earn an NW.

NOTE: In some cases, 25th place at the regional level may not have actually reached 100 rings, so the RPA is actually higher than it appears, however, the goal number assumes you will show and have time to final and count 100 rings.
