A New Year

by Lee Harper, Editor

The start of the new year is always an exciting time. It is a clean slate... a time of resolutions... new goals... re-evaluation of the year past...

It is a time for making new plans, perhaps changing direction and starting along a new path...

For the cat breeder, it is a time of anticipation. The queens are coming into season, or have already been bred. Kittens are arriving and as Spring approaches, most breeders will be busy with delivery, raising litters and weaning kitten.

For exhibitors, the new year marks the start of the final push of the show season. Over the next month or two, campaigners will see the light at the end of the tunnel. Most will reach the point of knowing that they will have made their goal. Some will realize their goal is no longer "do-able". Some will be running neck and neck with their competition to the finish line. It is a time of triumph, stress and disappointments.

Whatever your goals, whether you meet with triumph or defeat, I hope your journey brings you joy and happiness, friends and treasured memories. Here's wishing each an every one of you all the best for 2006.

May you have:

Enough success to keep you eager,
Enough failure to keep you humble,
Enough joy to share with others,
Enough trials to keep you strong,
Enough hope to keep you happy,
Enough faith to banish depression,
Enough friends to give you comfort,
Enough determination to make each day a better day than yesterday.
