The highest achievement in the CFA show ring is accomplished when a cat successfully earns the title of National Winner (NW). CFA established the title of Grand Champion in 1930 and the title of National Winner first appeared in 1971. In CFA, each year the top 25 cats in Championship, 25 Kittens and 25 cats in Premiership are awarded the NW title.
The Javanese is the long-haired version of the Colorpoint Shorthair, and comes in the same colors. The parent breeds are the Siamese, Colorpoint Shorthair, and Balinese. They were accepted by CFA for championship status in 1986.
It wasn't until the 1992-93 show season that the Javanese had their first National Winner - a blue lynx point male named GC, NW Zinzani St. John's Revelation, DM who was 9th Best Cat.
To date, no Javanese has earned a "Best" in any of the categories. The breed's highest placement was in the 1995-96 show season, when GP, NW Zinzani's The New Song of Dreamers was 6th Best Alter.
