The highest achievement in the CFA show ring is accomplished when a cat successfully earns the title of National Winner (NW). CFA established the title of Grand Champion in 1930 and the title of National Winner first appeared in 1971. In CFA, each year the top 25 cats in Championship, 25 Kittens and 25 cats in Premiership are awarded the NW title.
The Siamese is one of America's early breeds, and CFA chose to recognize the breed as one of its first five registered breeds, back in 1906.
One Siamese has earned the award of Best Cat since the National Awards started in 1970-71. GC, NW Thaibok Teriyaki was Best Cat in Championship for 1975-76.
The 1973-74 show season saw the greatest success for the breed, with 6 Siamese earning National Wins - 5 adults, and 1 alter.
