American Airlines Bans Snub-Nosed Breeds

While the world grows smaller each year, the options for flying with or shipping a cat are shrinking. American Airlines will not accept brachycephalic or snub-nosed cats (or dogs) as checked luggage on any of their airplanes.

The following is a list of brachycephalic cat breeds and any *mix* of will not be accepted:

Burmese Persian
Himalayan Exotic Shorthair

And just so you don't think cats are the only ones being banned, below is a list of dog breeds that will not be accepted as checked baggage.
Affenpinscher Bulldog (All breeds) Japanese Chin Presa Canario
American Staffordshire Terrier Cane Corso Lhasa Apso Pug (All breeds)
Boston Terrier Dogo Argentino Mastiff (All breeds) Shar Pei
Boxer (All breeds) Dogue De Bordeaux Pekingese Shih Tzu
Brussels English Toy Spaniel Pit Bull Tibetan Spaniel
